Mawson Park is located on the corner of Queen and Cordeaux Streets in the central business district of Campbelltown. The park is named in honour of Dr William Mawson, a highly regarded doctor for 28 years in the town. He was the brother of Sir Douglas Mawson, the famous Antarctic explorer.
The park has many historic monuments including the war memorial and is often used for formal ceremonies such as Anzac Day and Remembrance Day. A popular location for wedding photos because of its close proximity to St Peters Anglican Church on Cordeaux Street. The popular Macarthur Night Markets are a highlight and happen on the first and thrid Friday of each month.
Mawson Park's facilities include seating, toilets, extensive floral gardens and children's playground equipment.
