A well known lookout and reserve that is located at scenic Freemans Reach in the Hawkesbury. The lookout attracts visitors and locals alike who stop to take in the beautiful views across the Hawkesbury River and Richmond lowlands. The lookout here is part of the Hawkesbury Artists Trail as Streeton Lookout Reserve is a short distance from the place where Sir Arthur Streeton painted his famous landscape painting in 1896. (The Purple Noon’s Transparent Might) . The reserve is ideally situated at the junction of Terrace Road and Cliff Road and it is overlooking the picturesque Hawkesbury River. It is a very nice spot to take time out or to stop for a casual picnic lunch as the reserve has shelters, barbecues and toilets available. Often you will see small groups painting or sketching the landscape. Car parking is also available. Please contact the Visitor Information Centre for more information on this great place to visit.
