Backed by green forest, Durawi picnic area in the southern part of Bents Basin State Conservation Area is a scenic spot for a weekend barbecue. It’s a large area, so there’s plenty of room to throw a frisbee, have a game of soccer or just relax under a tree in the shade.
Choose your spot among the area’s three sections, each of which features picnic tables and wood barbecues and if you feel like a swim, make your way to Bents Basin, just 100m down the hill.
After lunch access the northern precinct of the park by taking the footpath across the short bridge next to the water and enjoy the views on Caleys lookout track.
