Located in the East Maitland Library, surrounded by lush parkland, with a sunny veranda; the café is filled with birdsong, fresh air and the smell of fresh coffee and wonderful food. Their café style meals and daily specials are made from seasonal produce often sourced from local farmers. Freshly baked scones and a variety of delicious cakes and slices are made in-house. A selection of speciality cakes and desserts from other makers are also available. Their 100 percent Arabica coffee is sourced from Byron Blue Coffee Estate which operates to the highest standards of ecological farming practices, is herbicide free and one of Australia’s premium micro-lot coffee producers. The coffee is single-origin and roasted in 20 kilogram batches as they need it. Learn a new skill in one of their cooking classes held during the year, add a twist to a recipe, make new foodie friends and have fun. Take home tasty home-style meals, curries, soups, jams, pickles, relishes and chutneys, all made with the highest quality ingredients and often from the season’s windfalls.
