Not just for meditators, this is a place where anyone is welcome to drop in to enjoy the views, ask for advice or just have a good conversation. The centre is beside a creek and surrounded by hobby farms in the quiet beauty of North East Tasmania. The building was once an apple shed and the original beams and weatherboards can still be seen. The decor includes apple memorabilia and a three metre high apple mandala. You are welcome to make yourself a cuppa, browse the bookshelf, have a chat with our friendly host or just have some time to yourself. There is a quiet time from 11:00 to 11:30am for meditation with a facilitator ($10 or $5 concession). For yoga, please check the website for classes. For a fee, you can arrange to have a guided tour or a private session for counselling, deep-state therapy or tuition. There is a small country-style retreat nearby, run by the proprietor of the meditation centre. Make it a complete spiritual getaway by spending a few nights in Hillwood and attending a sessions for stress management or spiritual growth. A program can be tailor-made for you or your group.
