Tin Shed Artist Studios is a shared artistic workplace situated in Launceston, Northern Tasmania. The Shed offers affordable studio space to aspiring and experienced artists with individual display areas. Resident at present are 16 artists practising a diverse range of art and craft also a shared workspace for casual artists. The artists in residence work in various disciplines including functional, decorative and sculptural ceramics, painting, printmaking, drawing and basketry, a glass bead and sculpture artist, Silver jewellery, photography and mixed media, hand made books and textiles. Visitors to the Shed can commission or purchase work in a variety of styles and designs, from rustic earthenware garden pots to finely thrown ceramic giftware, watercolours and oil paintings, prints, mixed media work, sculpture and jewellery. Come in and browse through the remarkable range of quality work. Experience the creative ambience, talk to and watch the artists at work and buy direct from the maker. Tin Shed Pottery is only a five-minute drive from the city centre, and a two-minute walk from the Queen Victoria Museum just over the road from UTAS Stadium, along Russell Street. We welcome bookings for group tours and demonstrations and outside firings are welcome.
