Glen Huon Dairy Co.

Since we started Bruny Island Cheese Co. in 2003, we have gained a reputation for pushing boundaries and making some of the best and most interesting cheeses in the country. But my dream was always to have our own dairy farm, to produce our own milk to make our cheeses even better. That dream finally came true in 2016 when we found, and purchased, a run-down farm on the banks of the Huon River in beautiful Glen Huon. To help make it a reality, we were joined in 2017 by our Farm Manager, Richard Butler and his family who moved to Tasmania from the UK to take up the role. Our dairy farm is everything that Richard and I dreamed it would be – a showcase of sustainable, small-scale, organic dairy farming that is all about maximising animal welfare and milk quality. We have converted a small barn on the property where you can find our organic milk on tap, our cheeses, our ethically raised beef and products from artisan producers in Tasmania. We run daily farm tours and you are welcome to purchase goods to make a cheese platter and dine in our picnic area overlooking our beautiful farm on the banks of the Huon River.
