Kicking back overlooking the Bremer River with a Ruby Chews burger is a purely Ipswich experience. You can also dine indoors in the cool neon-splashed interior, or order your food to take into the adjoining Limelight Cinemas. There’s even a specially designed cardboard “movie pack” that cinema-goers can carry their orders in. The Ruby Chews team pride themselves on sourcing quality produce and preparing it fresh to order. The Tasmanian Angus beef and a little sea salt are the only things that goes into the burger patty, which is cooked to order, manager Yann Bouton says. If you order a burger, it goes on the grill - there’s nothing pre-cooked or pre-made. You order fried chicken, they bread it and cook it. The concise menu here includes a range of burgers – the Ruby Classic and the Crispy Chicken burgers being the most popular – as well as onion rings, chicken tenders and American-style hot dogs with various toppings available including a chilli con carne made on site. There’s a list of frozen custards including crowd-pleasers strawberry and chocolate. Shakes are also popular but the venue is also licensed so you can order a beer or cider with your meal.
