Visitors to the Mornington Peninsula and locals alike have the opportunity to get their hands onto the tools and do some woodworking with School of Wood.
Practical skills to be learnt whilst woodworking are in abundance and once people get the basics down, so many options open up for them to make beautiful and practical furniture and smaller wooden items that will last a lifetime.
School of Wood offers introductory woodworking short courses for beginners to try it out and see if they like it. Also available are woodworking terms where students can work on individual pieces over the course of 40 hours in the studio typically spread over 10 weeks. During this time students will go through the maker process of design, cutlist prep, joinery, assembly and finishing all under the helpful guidance of the in house tutor.
School of Wood is operating as a home-based business which means class sizes are limited to two students at a time, however, that's great for students as it means more instructor time than typical hobby schools.
Open hours are standard business hours however attendance is strictly by appointment only - no walk-ins.
