The Magpie and Stump is a country hotel steeped in history dating back to 1851, making it one of South Australia’s oldest pubs. Mintaro is a charming country town, rich in character, heritage and community spirit situated in the Clare Valley. Visitors can immerse themselves in a range of local food, wine and entertainment at the Magpie and Stump, our wine offerings proudly support and promote local wineries through a predominantly local wine list. Our menu centres around ‘local’ and ‘handmade’ dishes including South Australian’s favourite - schnitzel (with an option of Surf n’ turf), and our signature ‘Stump Burger’ to name a few. As a family pub we cater for children with a concise kids’ menu. Light bar meals and dishes always available for the weary traveller or late night local. Our artisan cheese boards are a big hit, enjoyed against the backdrop of an open fire or, when the weather is fine, can be enjoyed on the sprawling lawns surrounding the pub.
