Housed in a beautifully preserved 1876 building, the Queanbeyan Museum houses an interesting collection of memorabilia from the area.
The Museum has themed displays including:
Queanbeyan's Story Begins - the Ngambri people, early exploration and settlers;
From Settlement to Town - the railway, telephones, shopkeepers, plumbers, builders, barbers, schooling and courthouses;
Bushrangers, Villains and Larrikins - local bushranging from the convict and gold rush eras; The Old Blacksmith's Shop - as it was in the 1900s;
That's Entertainment - featuring cameras, radios, fiddles and accordians;
Phonographs and Photographs - spotlight on businessman and entrepreneur Theo Cooper; Queanbeyan Medical Practices - featuring an original Both iron lung;
Historical Mural by acclaimed artist Margaret Hadfield and much, much more.
