The Wadandi Track, previously known as "Margaret River Rail Trail", is a multi-use path taking you through some of the most beautiful natural bush, farmland and vineyards in the Margaret River region, 3 hours south of Perth. The moderate 23 kilometre section from Cowaramup passes through peppermint, jarrah and young karri forest providing a first hand view of the abundant bird life.
This Top Trail was once part of the old railway network that was built during the timber boom. The trail begins or ends (depending where you start) at Cowaramup and finishes at Witchcliffe.
There are numerous bridges in the 5 kilometres north of Margaret River crossing a major river and creeks and streams of varying sizes. As it was a railway, the gradient is relatively flat, and the terrain is gentle.
This trail is easy to navigate and has picnic areas along the way. Directions are available from the Margaret River Visitor Centre.
