The La Trobe Art Institute is a multipurpose contemporary visual arts facility and event venue located in the heart of Bendigo's arts precinct and within walking distance of the railway station.
The unique building features two public galleries, sculpture courtyards, an auditorium and a meeting room.
The annual exhibition program seeks to present cutting edge modern art and the LAI aims to engage with the community through a public lecture program, artist floor-talks and residencies.
The LAI includes a 90 seat tiered auditorium equipped with a laptop computer, data projector, audio system and internet access. The auditorium can be hired for seminars and lectures and the foyer is available for stand-up receptions or can be used in conjunction with the auditorium; the stunning foyer which is accessed directly from beautiful View Street opens onto the adjacent courtyard - a wonderful space for guests to linger in the warmer months.
