Ballarat Bird World is open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10:00am until 5:00pm. Also open public holidays and selected Victorian school holidays. Closed Christmas Day and days of Total Fire Ban. Take a stroll along the raised walkway past the landscaped waterfall and gardens to view the birds on display. Varieties of birds include the Gang-gang, Major Mitchell and black cockatoos. An opportunity to have your photo taken with a black cockatoo is available at 11:00am, and 2:00pm. Limited numbers are available so bookings are required upon arrival. An added attraction is the full-sized adult animatronic triceratops dinosaur and children's fossil dig table. The new timber maze and picnic area is now open. Find the three-hole punch stamps in the maze to win a small prize. The cafe serves all-day cake and coffee and light lunches are available including toasties, chips and nuggets and focaccias. Whilst indoor seating is limited at the moment, the outdoor deck provides an opportunity to get up close to the native birds in the area and listen to the waterfall in the background.
